Bay Area Chorus of Greater Houston Presents "THE VOICE" in February
HOUSTON, Jan. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Bay Area Chorus of Greater Houston announces the "THE VOICE," fourth concert of its Fiftieth Concert Season LOOK TO THE FUTURE, at Clear Lake Presbyterian Church, 1511 El Dorado, Houston TX 77062 Sunday, 4:00 P.M.
This Scholarship Audition Concert includes applicants for two BAC High School Senior Scholarships. Each will be singing two art songs of their choosing to be judged. While the judges determine this year's winners, past BAC Vocal Music Scholarship Winners will return to sing and make comments about their Vocal Music Education and present involvement in their field. The scholarships will be awarded at the completion of the concert and a reception will follow for the new winners and the performing past winners of the scholarship.
One of Houston's oldest non-profit choral groups, the Bay Area Chorus has brought heartfelt performances to Houston and the Texas Gulf Coast since the spring of 1965. The Chorus began their scholarship program in the spring of 1980.
Currently there are two offered each year: The Elizabeth Dennard Choral Music Educator Scholarship and the Pricilla Ennis Vocal Music Scholarship. The winner of the first scholarship awarded in 1980, Geri Johnson Foster, and others will be singing on this concert. Read more about the Bay Area Chorus on the BAC Website: www.bayareachorus.org .
