Piston Captures One Platinum and Three Golds at Pixie Awards

Recognition Follows Small Agency of the Year Honors at iMedia Awards

SAN DIEGO, Dec. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Piston (http://www.pistonagency.com/), the full-service digital agency based in San Diego and New York, has won multiple awards for its "Forever Yakult" television campaign created for Yakult U.S.A. Inc. in the 6(th) Annual Pixie Awards.

Piston took home Platinum in animation, Gold in motion graphics and Gold in visual effects for the Yakult TV spot. A third Gold was won for the SONY "Crossing Lines" online game in the gaming category. These awards are on top of recognition received earlier this month as iMedia's Small Agency of the Year--in addition to taking home five ADDY's at the American Advertising Awards this past June.

The 2014 Pixie Awards honor and promote outstanding individual work in motion graphics, visual effects and animation. The Pixie Awards is sponsored by the American Pixel Academy, founded in 2008 by David E. Carter, also the founder of the Telly® Awards and American Corporate Identity, and editor of the Creativity Annual.

Entries are reviewed by industry professionals who have excelled in animation, motion graphics, and visual effects and are judged against a standard of excellence, not against each other. Entries scoring 9.0 or higher on a 10-point scale qualify for the Pixie Platinum Award. Those scoring 7.0 to 8.9 qualify for the Pixie Gold Award.
