Amazon Studios To Decide By End Of Year On "Night Of A Thousand Vaginas" The Movie
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Dailey Pike's "Night Of A Thousand Vaginas" is not a movie... yet. Amazon Studios may make it one. But considering the amount of online buzz it's generating already it soon will be. Plus it's to be filmed in SUBLIMOVISION(tm).
Filmmaker, photographer, comedian Dailey Pike explains, "I wanted to write a story that was a metaphor to address the current day issues surrounding immigration, abortion, reproductive rights, abuse of power, war on women, corruption, fear of others, and life outside our solar system. My problem was how to present it without 'preaching' at the audience. The answer of course was comedy. My inspiration came from a one time Hollywood event created by actress Martha Plimpton to raise funds for women in Texas with no access to abortion clinics. It was called A Night Of A Thousand Vaginas. I respected the noble effort but I howled with laughter at its name."
Pike continues, "And so was born Night Of A Thousand Vaginas - The Movie. It's the tale of Mary, teen runaway from the all female planet Utopia, who lands in the U.S. to give birth, but male politicians, clergy, and corporate fear mongers conspire to kill her unborn baby, giving rise to an intergalactic war on "manhood" by 1000's of Fembot Castratrons. I'm sure you can figure out what a Castratron is. For a man, it ain't good. I also wrote a character with my old boss Roseanne in mind as what else, the Queen Of Planet Utopia."
Having the concept firmly established in his head but before writing a single word of the script, Pike, also a graphic designer, went on a creative tear coming up with posters, trailers, and videos posted on numerous websites he created to support the film including Vimeo, Pinterest and SmugMug. This resulted in tens of thousands of views and downloads. He also ingeniously generated a fake back story that the film was a remake of a 1949 film unsuccessfully remade in 1969. Pike also hints of subliminal messages throughout the film using a faux new technique he created called SUBLIMOVISION which allegedly can influence people's emotions and decisions.
If that weren't enough, Pike wrote and produced three original soundtrack songs for the film. "Night Of A Thousand Vaginas" sung by Dic Damone, "Monster Vagina From Outer Space" by The Clitones, and Story Of A Very Bad Girl by Ovarina. He is the voice of the first two songs. Those songs can be heard via Soundcloud.
Pike concludes, "If Amazon Studios includes Night Of A Thousand Vaginas on their development slate, or even if they don't, I would be honored and delighted to have the multitalented Martha Plimpton involved with the project. That would certainly complete the circle."
