Phaedra Parks Organizes "Save Our Sons" Event To Support African American Boys And Men In Atlanta

Attorney and "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star teams with Radio One to host inaugural men's empowerment rally

ATLANTA, Nov. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --


WHAT A rally and conference to highlight the importance of supporting
and encouraging African-American boys and men, offer resources
to African-American males, celebrate the work of organizations
engaged in programs that support the cause and inspire and
motivate members of the community.


WHEN Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. EST.


WHERE Frederick Douglass High School, 225 Hamilton E. Holmes Drive,
Atlanta


WHO Phaedra Parks, entertainment attorney and star of "Real
Housewives of Atlanta" hosts with special speakers KD Bowe
(radio personality), Dr. E. Dewey Smith (noted pastor), Judge
Greg Mathis (star of court show), Jeff Johnson (TV personality
and motivational speaker), David Johns (executive director of
the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African
Americans) and others.


WHY African-American boys and men, particularly ones who have grown
up fatherless and without positive male role models, are often
in need of guidance, information and resources to be successful
in life. It is important for individuals, businesses and local
organizations to support the needs of African-American males
who want to better their lives and become productive and
positive members of their communities.


PROGRAM The S.O.S. rally will include several panel discussions on topics
of interest including supporting the development and learning of
African-American males in metro Atlanta, the responsibilities
of law enforcement officer and the rights of individuals,
supporting those who are already in the criminal justice system
and recommendations to optimize opportunities for African-
American youth. The event will also feature special performances
and a community resource fair.
