Frost & Sullivan Commends Artiza Networks for Developing Superior Test Products that also Deliver the Best Throughput Results and Highest Capacity Simulations
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Oct. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the Long-Term Evolution (LTE) and LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) test equipment market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Artiza Networks, Inc. (Artiza) with the 2014 Global Frost & Sullivan Award for New Product Innovation Leadership. The effective use of customer intelligence, along with extensive R&D and rich experience in the LTE and LTE-A test equipment market, gives Artiza an edge in designing best-in-class solutions. Some of its innovations, such as the advanced centralized radio access network (C-RAN) test solution, DuoSIM, and DuoSIM-Advanced (DuoSIM-A) testers feature superior capabilities and boast industry-leading performance, all-around energy efficiency, and low operational costs.
Identifying the need for a high-capacity network test solution, Artiza adopted NTT Docomo's advanced C-RAN technology to design a feature-rich test solution. This solution can be scaled up to aggregate multiple LTE carriers up to 100 MHz bandwidth in a single cloud-based architecture. This capability is backed by the effective arrangement of small add-on and macro cells. The macro cells ensure the coverage of a larger area for reliable connectivity, especially for mobile applications.
Artiza's LTE/LTE-A Testers (DuoSIM-A) can simulate more than 3,000 UEs per sector, while competing testers only support 200 to 400 UEs. Its testing hardware architecture features the widely accepted Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture (ATCA) wireless carrier platform that accommodates blades (baseband, CPU, DSP array, and switch) as well as varied modules. This assorted set of blades and modules gives customers the flexibility to set the testbed to meet their specific performance and capacity needs.
"In trying to successfully address customers' evolving testing needs, Artiza ensured that its innovative, comprehensive application sets for both functional and load testing is based on its new DuoSIM-A concept," said Frost & Sullivan Senior Research Analyst Olga Shapiro. "The DuoSIM-A targets next-generation technologies such as multi-antenna (MIMO), carrier aggregation (CA), and coordinated multipoint (CoMP), which are built on the high-end capabilities of the proven, standard DuoSIM testing equipment concept."
The flexible framework of the DuoSIM-A concept scales up testing capabilities and activities by enabling functional testing to be conducted on the same platform meant for load testing. With Artiza's advanced functional and load testers, customers can easily conduct C-plane and U-plane testing, either separately or in combination.
Artiza strives to render the best value for money through timely roll outs of test products and network deployments. It has product-support engineers present at different customer sites to keep pace with the fast-changing trends in the wireless industry and successfully address the needs of its customers. These technical experts observe the performance of Artiza's testing solutions to develop a clear understanding of their effectiveness in addressing customer needs.
Capabilities such as remotely connecting 48 cells or more for performing Advanced C-RAN testing, highest capacity simulation, and the integration of high-end interface capabilities into a single chassis are some of the reasons for Artiza's global acceptance. The industry-leading simulation capacity of the AZP-1400 chassis makes the ATCA blade-based platform a high-performance testing hardware framework. Therefore, Artiza is able to incur the lowest CAPEX per UE in the industry. As the AZP-1400 consumes lower power per UE, it also incurs the lowest OPEX, especially during long-term load testing.
"The compatibility and portability of the solution's different hardware components across diverse testing platforms simplify the test sequences and runs," noted Olga Shapiro. "The company reuses components in DuoSIM-A-based functional testers, such as blades, chassis, and RF-Units, for conducting load testing with the addition of just a few more similar components instead of separately preparing the entire test case, further enabling cost-savings."
Overall, the high value obtained from adopting Artiza's cutting-edge test solutions has been instrumental in making its products a global success.
Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has developed an innovative element in a product by leveraging leading-edge technologies. The award recognizes the value-added features/benefits of the product and the increased ROI it offers customers, which, in turn, increases customer acquisition and overall market penetration potential.
Frost & Sullivan's Best Practices Awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for outstanding achievement in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis, and extensive secondary research.
