ABC 7 Eyewitness News, League Of Women Voters Partner To Present Series Of Candidate Debates During October 2014; Univision Chicago WGBO Also To Partner

CHICAGO, Sept. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In run-up to the November election, ABC 7 Chicago will be the home for four candidate debates, continuing the station's long-standing tradition of producing and broadcasting political debates. During the month of October, ABC 7 will partner with the League of Women Voters of Illinois to present four debates on-air, online and on digital channel 7.2, including the Governor's Debate, U.S. Senate Debate and two Congressional Debates - for the 10(th) and 11(th) Districts. Univision Chicago WGBO will join the partnership for the Governor and Senate Debates.

GOVERNOR'S DEBATE: MONDAY, OCTOBER 20 AT 8:00 PM
Gubernatorial candidates Patrick Quinn and Bruce Rauner will square off in the final debate before the election during VOTE 2014: DEBATE IN THE RACE FOR GOVERNOR, live at 8:00 PM in ABC 7 studios. The debate will be moderated by ABC 7 Eyewitness News Anchor/Reporter Ron Magers and will be streamed live at 8:00 PM on abc7chicago.com and featured live on the station's digital channel 7.2. It will also be available on-demand on the ABC 7 Chicago web site.

The debate will air on ABC 7's main channel on Monday, October 20 at 10:35 PM. The hour-long debate will be presented commercial free.

The debate will also air on Univision Chicago WGBO at 10 PM on Wednesday, October 22. It will be featured on-demand on Univision chicago.com and will be simulcast on Univision America Radio 1200 AM.

ABC 7 Eyewitness News Political Reporter Charles Thomas; ABC 7 Political Analyst Laura Washington and Univision Chicago WGBO ReporterErika Maldonado will serve on the panel questioning the candidates.

SENATE DEBATE: WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 22 AT 7:00 PM
Illinois Candidates for U.S. Senate Dick Durbin and Jim Oberweis will debate live at 7:00 PM in ABC 7 Studios. The debate will be moderated by Eyewitness News Anchor/Reporter Kathy Brock and will be streamed live at 7:00 PM on abc7chicago.com and will be featured live on the station's digital channel 7.2. It will also be available on-demand on the ABC 7 Chicago web site.

The debate will air on ABC 7's main channel on Wednesday, October 22 at 10:35 PM. The hour-long debate will be presented commercial free.

ABC 7 Eyewitness News Political Reporter Charles Thomas; ABC 7 Political Analyst Laura Washington and Univision Chicago WGBO Reporter Enrique Rodriguez will serve on the panel questioning the candidates.

The debate will also air Saturday, October 25(th) on Univision Chicago WGBO at 10 AM and will be featured on-demand on Univisionchicago.com and will be simulcast on Univision America Radio 1200 AM.

CONGRESSIONAL DEBATES: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18

Candidates for the 10(th) Congressional District of Illinois, Brad Schneider and Robert Dold will face off live, at 11:00 AM in ABC 7 Studios. ABC 7 Eyewitness News Anchor/Reporter Alan Krashesky will moderate the debate. The half-hour debate will be streamed live at 11:00 AM on abc7chicago.com and will also be live on the station's digital channel 7.2. It will also be available on-demand on the ABC 7 Chicago web site.

The debate will air on ABC 7's main channel on Sunday, October 19 at 1:00 PM and will be presented commercial free.

Candidates for the 11(th) Congressional District of Illinois, Bill Foster and Darlene Senger will debate live, at 1:00 PM in ABC 7 Studios. ABC 7 Eyewitness News Anchor/Reporter Alan Krashesky will moderate the debate. The half-hour debate will be streamed live at 1:00 PM on abc7chicago.com and will also be featured live on the station's digital channel 7.2. It will also be available on-demand on the ABC 7 Chicago web site.

The debate will air on ABC 7's main channel Sunday, October 19 at 1:30 PM and will be presented commercial free.
