Retro-inspired Pop/Rock Solo Project of Scott Krajca The Course Announces First EP, "La La Liberation"

SEATTLE, Aug. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Brimming with ear-catching melodies, strong guitars and a feel-good, positive message, The Course (http://www.thecourseband.com/) is poised to re-ignite the once-volcanic Seattle music scene. Work on "La La Liberation" began in January 2014. Early feedback from listeners has been strong: "The singer's voice has that indie rock vibe. I look forward to hearing more from this band." "The vocal is soft and deep; you can hear passion and a love for the words he is singing, almost desperate to get a point across. I hope to hear this on the radio while driving one day!" "I like it. It reminds of something I would have heard in the 80s, like music from 'The Breakfast Club.' I could definitely hear this on a movie soundtrack."

As a musician and songwriter, Krajca gives a distinct nod to the glorious 80s and 90s rock scene, and La La Liberation has clearly been influenced by the likes of Tears for Fears, Pearl Jam, REM and U2. Krajca remarked that he's honored to hear his work mentioned in the same breath as such titans.

The Course's surprising blend of styles has attracted the attention of music fans from all backgrounds and age groups. And in the tradition of great power pop, La La Liberation hooks listeners with its charming likability, but keeps them listening thanks to top-shelf production and musicianship.

On an EP full of standout tracks, it's hard to pick one as the most likely to rocket up the singles charts. One song, though, holds special significance for Scott Krajca, founder and only permanent member of The Course. The deeply personal lyrics of "With Light" address issues of depression; the song was composed in honor of a family member who has Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). To further show support for those struggling with this condition, proceeds from sales of the album and of the single "With Light" will go toward the renowned BDD Program at Rhode Island Hospital.

As demonstrated by Krajca's deeply personal songwriting, spiritual and social consciousness are the beating heart of The Course's vibrant pop sound. Outside of his artistic pursuits, Krajca is a registered hypnotherapist; his work has shown him first-hand the destructive potential of stress, as well as the restorative powers of mindfulness and self-love. This knowledge translates seamlessly into his songwriting and composition. In the album notes, Krajca elaborates on this point, explaining that his mission with The Course is to "deliver conscious messages through catchy pop/rock music."

The future looks promising for The Course. Krajca expects to release a full-length album in 2015, to be followed with a schedule of live shows.
