Outside Lands Festival and Magisto, Mobile Video App Bring Social Music Videos to San Francisco
Magisto will enable attendees to make mobile movies of their experience and share them with friends
SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Outside Lands is a three-day music, food and arts festival that takes place in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, CA. Performers at the festival this year include Kanye West, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Killers, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and many others. This year, the festival has teamed up with Magisto, the cloud-based video editing application to help participants at the festival, and the public at large, create videos that celebrate music, art and food.
Magisto is a video editing application that turns users photos and videos into professional quality movies in a matter of minutes. In honor of the Outside Lands festival the "indie" theme at Magisto will include a "presented by Outside Lands" post roll and all the music offered in the theme will be from bands playing at the festival.
"The festival celebrates a mix of music, food, wine, beer and art from the Bay Area and Northern California," said Superfly's Neal Cohen. "By using the Magisto mobile video app, we're encouraging fans to tell their own unique stories about how the weekend plays out for them and their friends. There is a special Outside Lands editing style with soundtrack options from awesome bands playing this weekend so participants can set their own videos and photos to some great music. We're excited to see the movies that get made when we put this tool into the creative and enthusiastic hands of the Outside Lands community."
Reid Genauer, CMO of Magisto said, "Outside Lands is an unforgettable San Francisco gathering that is quickly becoming one of the most prominent festivals in the US. It brings together the best in music, food and art and a richness of experiences that will be amplified when fans capture and share their stories with Magisto. We're excited to be part of the event and to share new music from Outside Lands' artists with Magisto's 40 million users worldwide."
"As a musical collective, our mission is to be the motivation and inspiration for the members of our Tribe," said Nahko of Nahko and Medicine for the People, who also created the video below. "We are excited that our music will be part of the Magisto video editing application that has such a huge global audience. We are dedicated to gathering the stories and experiences of our tribe and we look forward to seeing the Magisto movies that our music inspires."
