Celebrate the Best of Summer Music Festivals in the Comfort of Your Home With the Free FiOS On Demand Virtual Music Festival

July and August Will Feature Hours of Music Choice Videos Across Four Genres, Plus Concert Performances on AXS TV and Concert TV From Classic and Current Artists, All on Demand

NEW YORK, June 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Hordes of people, expensive tickets and concessions, heat, rain - summer music festivals are fun ...once. This summer's FiOS On Demand Virtual Music Festival brings viewers the best touring artists and concerts from July 1-Aug. 29 without the hassle associated with big outdoor festivals. So you can crank up the surround-sound system, kick off your shoes, dance around the house and let the hot days of summer turn into even hotter nights, with videos and performances from across the musical spectrum, on demand and free.

Verizon has teamed up with Music Choice and supplemented that with additional concert content from AXS TV and Concert TV to create a two-month virtual concert on demand, featuring artists like Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Iggy Azalea, Luke Bryan, Marc Anthony, Pitbull, Snoop Dogg, Kate Nash, The Who, Guns 'n Roses, Ringo Starr and many more. (NOTE: you can view a full roster of songs on video and performances here.)

Overall, over 100 videos of music and an assortment of concert videos will be available free and on demand during July and August, including individual videos offered by Music Choice featuring five categories: Headliners, R&B and Hip-hop, EDM, Country and Fiesta Latina. Previously recorded concerts on AXS TV and Concert TV featuring David Gilmour, Yes, Vintage Trouble, White Lies, MGMT, La Roux and more will also cut across musical genres, offering entertainment that appeals to many people.

"Our on-demand library is usually about movies and TV series, and now, music and performances have an important place there, too," said Joe Lawson, Verizon's director of video content and acquisition. "Music sets the mood and takes you to memories directly linked to songs or concerts. This Virtual Music Festival allows consumers to bring up the memories with those songs and couple them with videos and concerts, free and on demand, without having to find a parking space or spend a small fortune on tickets and concessions."

FiOS subscribers can go to Channel 900 to find the Virtual Music Festival On Demand folder to select their videos and performances of choice. In addition to the videos and performances, this folder will also include a special Essence Music Festival folder where videos and content with key performers from this year's event can be viewed.

Verizon's industry-leading FiOS On Demand library includes over 88,000 titles, with over 30,000 available in HD. Over 60,000 of these titles are accessible out of home on PCs, tablets or smart phones via the FiOS Mobile App. Most FiOS On Demand new-release movies are available to own, utilizing the company's electronic sell-through feature, before they're out on DVD. And, many new-release movies are available before Netflix offers them.
