Bringing top-notch cover bands, tribute acts and special performers to Catalina, the series includes 10 not-to-be-missed performances on Wrigley Stage in the heart of Avalon's picturesque waterfront.

The Catalina Summer Concert Series was introduced in 2010 and quickly became a favorite of residents and visitors. In addition to sponsors Catalina Island Vacation Rentals and Catalina Island Real Estate, it is made possible by the Catalina Island Chamber of Commerce and stage sponsor Hamilton Pacific.

"The concert series brings people together to celebrate summer," said Kevin Strege, president of CIVR and CIRE. "It is fun to see families dancing together in the street and having a great time - you know those are memories that will last a lifetime."

The free concerts also include nightly giveaways with Catalina Island prizes. A separate beer garden is available for those who want to relax during the concert.

"We've brought some great music and great experiences to Avalon," said Ray McKewon of the Xceptional Music Company. "With many new acts this year, including tributes to the Cars, Abba, and Eric Clapton, and special features like Roadhouse Rock and the Video Generation, and the Nashville Sensation, Rainey Qualley, we know we'll make the visitor experience in Avalon even more memorable."

The Summer Concert Series has become a family tradition, with many Catalina Island visitors returning over the summer to see more than one concert.

"The Catalina Island Chamber of Commerce is proud to partner with The Xceptional Music Company and bring quality family entertainment to Avalon," said Wayne Griffin, president of the Catalina Island Chamber of Commerce. "We hope the Summer Concert Series gives our visitors a reason to come back again and again to enjoy these top-notch entertainers!"

This year's series kicks off on Sunday, May 25, with the Xceptional Tribute to the Cars. The following weekend, May 31, ukulele star Taimane Gardner will take the stage during the Catalina Island Flying Fish Festival.

Over the summer, visitors will enjoy tributes to ABBA and Eric Clapton, country star Rainey Qualley and blues legend Billy Thompson and performances dedicated to roadhouse rock and the video generation.
