Lyte is hosting BK's Finest: A Street Performer Riot

STARTUP LYTE KICKS OFF ITS SUMMER CONCERT TOUR

BROOKLYN, N.Y., May 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Lyte is hosting BK's Finest: A Street Performer Riot at the venue Villain in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The free event is a celebration of street performers. NYC's best buskers will be performing on pop-up stages throughout the venue. Cern One will be performing a live art demonstration alongside the musical performances. Cern One is the graffiti writing legend and muralist who brought Brooklyn the mural "Commandante Biggie." Canon Logic and Srikalogy, two Brooklyn bands who have their roots in street performance, will be showcasing on a main stage.

The event is this Friday, May 9, at Villain venue in Williamsburg from 7-10PM. It is free but requires RSVP (http://lytetrucktour.splashthat.com/). This event is part of the Lyte Truck Tour, a series of secret shows throughout May and June celebrating NYC arts and performance.

Lyte insists there are no traditional rules for this event. To prove the point they have issued an open invitation to attendees who are professional musicians to join a jam session at the end of the event.

"We are reminding folks that a show can happen anywhere. All you need is great music. I hope attendees ride the subway a little differently on Monday morning," said Lyte founder Antony Taylor.

While the event celebrates the artistic lineage of NYC streets, Lyte is cultivating a VIP feel. Road Soda will be pouring craft cocktails all night (free from 7-8PM).
