Good Days from CDF Online Video Selected for Highest Honor in the 35th Annual Telly Awards

PLANO, Texas, May 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Good Days from CDF is proud to announce it has been selected as a Silver winner of the 35(th) Annual Telly Awards, the organization's highest honor, for its online video Casting For CDF: A Story of Love, Hope and Life.

Casting For CDF: A Story of Love, Hope and Life highlights one family's efforts to raise funds for Good Days from CDF through an annual charity fishing tournament. The tournament takes place each summer in honor of Dan Wachowski, Sr., who passed away in 2013 from prostate cancer and who was assisted by Good Days from CDF in accessing medication critical to his health.

"We are truly honored to receive such recognition on this heartwarming and important video feature," said Clorinda Walley, executive director of Good Days from CDF. "This was a storytelling opportunity that gets to the heart of what Good Days from CDF is all about. We are incredibly grateful for the Wachowski family's efforts to help give back to our Fund and also for their willingness to help spread our message of hope."

The Telly Awards is the premier award honoring the finest film and video productions, groundbreaking web commercials, videos and films, and outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world. With nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, Good Days from CDF is honored to have been selected.

"The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video," said Linda Day, executive director of the Telly Awards. "Good Day's from CDF's accomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill, and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great film and video production."

For its 35th season, The Telly Awards once again joined forces with YouTube to give the public the power to view and rate videos submitted as part of the People's Telly Awards. In addition to recognition from the Silver Telly Council, the judging panel that selects the Telly Awards winners, the Internet community helps decide the People's Telly Awards winners.

A prestigious judging panel of over 500 accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly and a member of The Silver Telly Council, judged the competition, upholding the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents. The Silver Council evaluated entries to recognize distinction in creative work - entries do not compete against each other - rather entries are judged against a high standard of merit. Less than 10 percent of entries are chosen as Winners of the Silver Telly, the organization's highest honor. Approximately 25 percent of entries are chosen as Winners of the Bronze Telly.
