Ustad Allarakha (father of Ustad Zakir Hussain, Fazal Qureshi and Taufiq Qureshi). Each
year Fazal Qureshi celebrates this day with a concert titled - 'The Journey Continues....'

- Ustad Allarakha was a unique musician who was the first to dwell in fusion
music.
- He collaborated with jazz artistes of his time, even played with western
classical musicians along with Ravi Shankar and Yehudi Menuhin
- This concert is a tribute to his versatility and musicianship.
- This year the concert took place on 28th April, 2014 at St. Andrews
Auditorium, Bandra West. The concept this year was to present three different genres
of music on stage: Indian classical music, western classical music and jazz.
- The three styles were presented individually and then together in a finale
piece which was a specially composed piece. The concert featured the coming together
of some of the country's top-most musicians - Fazal Qureshi, Louiz Banks, Gino Banks,
Rakesh Chaurasia and Sheldon D'souza, to name a few.
