Chinatown Summer Nights Celebrates Five Years of Food, Art, and Music

LOS ANGELES, May 28, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- One of the best ways to spend a warm summer night in the City of Angels, Chinatown Summer Nights is back again with three incredible nights of music, art, performances, and food. Los Angeles's iconic Chinatown will transform into an epic block party every Second Saturday - June 14th, July 12th, and August 9th from 5 p.m.-midnight. Part dance concert, part food festival, and all fun - Chinatown Summer Nights is proudly presented by the Chinatown Business Improvement District and KCRW.

Acclaimed DJs from Los Angeles public radio station KCRW (89.9 FM/KCRW.com) will provide the soundtrack for each unforgettable night: Travis Holcombe and Mario Cotto in June, Jason Bentley and Liza Richardson in July, and Raul Campos and Anthony Valadez in August. Spin the night away on our outdoor dance floor with thousands of Angelenos under the magical glow of Central Plaza's vintage neon lights.

In addition to DJs and dancing, you can also find bands and beer at the LAWeekly Live Music Stage and adjacent Craft Beer Garden. Kevin Bronson of BuzzBands LA curates a talented fresh crop of bands - featuring six different groups each night. The Beer Garden will serve a rotating offering of seasonal microbrews highlighting local breweries curated by Eagle Rock Brewery.

Chinatown Summer Nights has activities for all ages, from hands-on cultural workshops to unique shopping in a craft/flea market showcasing local designers and artists. The many culinary offerings of Chinatown will be featured through cooking demos (confirmed guests include Iron Chef America participant Jet Tila and local celebrity favorite Starry Kitchen's Nguyen Tran), restaurants from authentic Asian to creative fusion, and of course, the city's best food trucks. For the extra adventurous, each Chinatown Summer Night will also include an eating competition with surprise challenges!

FREE Admission. Located at 943-951 N. Broadway, Los Angeles, 90012 in Central and West Plazas. Convenient from Metro Gold Line's Chinatown Station, just one stop north of Union Station. Plentiful metered and lot parking for drivers. Bike racks available. http://www.chinatownsummernights.com/
