Taylor Farms Workers To Screen Cesar Chavez Film With Labor Icon's Nephew
(MANTECA, Calif.) - More than 100 workers will join the nephew of Cesar Chavez to screen a film that documents the life of the iconic labor leader. Cesar Chavez, directed by Diego Luna, follows the struggles and triumphs of Chavez as he united Latino farm workers across California and the nation, championing worker and civil rights.

More than 60 years after Chavez began his fight for farm workers, hundreds of Taylor Farms workers at the Tracy, Calif. facility still face the same brutal tactics that the former president of the United Farm Workers made his life's mission to combat. The workers are currently trying to organize with Teamsters Local Union 601 in Stockton, Calif., but have endured a vicious anti-union campaign by management at Taylor Farms.
Fred Chavez, nephew of Cesar Chavez, will join these workers at the AMC Showcase 16 in Manteca, Calif. to show his family's support of the workers' cause. Fred Chavez is an Administrative Law Judge with the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board.
