hmv Canada Brings Fans Even Closer to the Entertainment They Love

A new live event space emerges in hmv's Toronto Superstore to feature performances, autograph sessions, art exhibits and more.



TORONTO, April 28, 2014 /CNW/ - hmv Canada, the country's premiere retail destination for music and entertainment announces today an exciting remodel, to include a live event space, at its Toronto Superstore located at Yonge and Dundas.

"As the home of entertainment, we strive to offer customers new ways to consume music and entertainment," said Nick Williams, President and CEO, hmv Canada. "We are excited to announce the construction of a live event space as an expansion to our business, bringing a new experience to our stores and entertainment fans alike."

The hmv Underground, located at 333 Yonge Street, is hmv's new live event space which will host, live performances and autograph signings from both local and emerging artists to national musical sensations, as well as art exhibits and more. In addition, pure, hmv's loyalty rewards program, will offer its members VIP access to these special events.

As a venue for the 2014 TD Toronto Jazz Festival, The hmv Underground will feature free, pre-festival, live performances by local jazz acts including Mike Downes Trio, Myriad3 and Eliana Cuevas.

The Distillers front woman Brody Dalle will hit the stage on May 7(th) 2014, at the hmv Underground, performing songs from her new solo album "Diploid Love," followed by Manchester Orchestra who will rock the house on May 19(th) 2014.



To officially open The hmv Underground, hmv invites fans to a live performance and autograph session with Canadian classical guitarist Michael Kolk, on Saturday May 3(rd) at 2pm. Stay connected to the hmv Underground's event activity through the hmv Canada and pure social media sites.
