Media Society Announces First Date Available for Licensing

LOS ANGELES, March 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Having co-produced First Date through Altar Identity Studios, Media Society is proud to announce that the Broadway hit is now available for licensing through R&H Theatricals. Originally starring Zachary Levi and Krysta Rodriguez on Broadway, the hilarious and poignant show was praised for delighting audiences, which the New York Times referred to as the "virtual laugh track" throughout the entire performance.

When dating newbie Aaron is set up with serial-dater Casey for a quick drink, their blind date turns into a hilarious, high-stakes dinner. The couple quickly finds they're not alone as Casey and Aaron's inner critics take on a life of their own and other restaurant patrons and wait staff get into the act. Dinner is served with sides of Google background checks, fake emergency phone calls, supportive best friends, manipulative exes and protective parents, who sing and dance them through ice-breakers, appetizers and potential conversational land mines.

FIRST DATE was developed in Seattle by the 5th Avenue Theatre and A Contemporary Theater, and ran at ACT in early 2012 before arriving at Broadway's Longacre Theatre in August 2013, co-produced by Altar Identity Studios and Junkyard Productions (MEMPHIS).

The original musical features music and lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner (Disney's TWICE CHARMED) and a book by Austin Winsberg (TV's "Gossip Girl"). An Original Broadway Cast Recording, produced by Altar Identity Studios, is available through iTunes.
