SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jan. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The latest performances for the 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards(®) telecast were announced today and they include: current GRAMMY(®) nominee Lorde; nominee Katy Perry; eight-time GRAMMY-winning group Metallica with GRAMMY Cultural Ambassador to China Lang Lang; Nile Rodgers (of Chic), nominee Pharrell Williams, and 25-time GRAMMY winner Stevie Wonder to join a previously announced performance by nominees Daft Punk; and nominee Robin Thicke with GRAMMY-winning group Chicago. They join previously announced performances by nominees Kendrick Lamar joined by Imagine Dragons; P!nk and Nate Ruess (of FUN.); as well as a special performance featuring Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, and current nominee Blake Shelton. Two-time GRAMMY winner LL COOL J returns as host of Music's Biggest Night(®). The music industry's premier event will take place live on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast in high-definition TV and 5.1 surround sound on the CBS Television Networkfrom 8 - 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT). This will be Lorde's first performance on the GRAMMY Awards telecast, and Pharrell Williams' first GRAMMY performance since the 46th GRAMMYs in 2004. Metallica will be performing on the GRAMMY stage for the first time in 23 years; they last performed at the 33rd GRAMMY Awards in 1991. Lang Lang last performed on the 50th GRAMMY Awards telecast in 2008. Chicago also will be performing on the GRAMMY stage for the first time, and their album The Chicago Transit Authority was inducted into the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame(®) this year. Also performing with Daft Punk are the RAM (Random Access Memories) session players: Chris Caswell, Nathan East, Omar Hakim, and Paul Jackson Jr.
Three-time GRAMMY winner Pharrell Williams has seven nominations: two in Record Of The Year and two in Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "Get Lucky" (with Daft Punk) and "Blurred Lines" (with Robin Thicke and T.I.); two in Album Of Year as a featured artist on Daft Punk's Random Access Memories and as a producer on Kendrick Lamar's Good Kid, M.A.A.D City; and one for Producer Of The Year, Non-Classical.
Lorde has four nods: Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for "Royals" and Best Pop Vocal Album for Pure Heroine.
Robin Thicke is up for three awards: Record Of The Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "Blurred Lines" (with Pharrell Williams and T.I.), and Best Pop Vocal Album for Blurred Lines.
Katy Perry has two nominations: Song Of The Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for "Roar."
Metallica's Metallica Through The Never (Music From The Motion Picture) is nominated for Best Recording Package; art directors Bruce Duckworth, Sarah Moffat, Brian Steele & David Turner are the nominees.
