Hollywood Censors New Feature Film About Censorship

Hollywood Censors New Feature Film About Censorship

New film "Free The Nipple" by Lina Esco focuses on debate of violence vs. nudity.

PARK CITY, Utah, Dec. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Filmmaker Lina Esco has just been informed by her lawyer that her feature film, Free the Nipple, will be given an NC-17 rating. Ironically, the film is about the backwards censorship laws in Hollywood. "I hope this injustice leads to serious dialogue concerning what images and ideas are considered 'culturally damaging' and obscene," explained Esco. "Today, there is more violence in PG-13 movies than in R-Rated films. What is more obscene: violence or a nipple?"

To bypass the MPAA's rating system and escape censorship, Esco has decided to work with FundAnything.com to help her raise money to finish film and market the film. "I want people to see the film I intended to make, without it being censored," explained Esco. "FundAnything.com gives everyone the chance to join me in this important fight against censorship in a country that ironically prides itself on freedom."

Supporters of the Free The Nipple crowdfunding campaign receive incredible rewards, unavailable to anyone else, including VIP tickets to the premiere and after party, screening invites and even an associate producer credit!
