Bluegrass Legend & Grammy Winner Ricky Skaggs to Perform at National Press Club; December 19

WASHINGTON, Dec. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- 14-time Grammy winner Ricky Skaggs will share memories from his 50-year bluegrass and country career at a National Press Club luncheon on Thursday, Dec. 19. Skaggs has been playing the mandolin since he was five years old. He rose to the heights of country music stardom while remembering his bluegrass roots. During the luncheon, Skaggs will break out his guitar to perform some of his best known hits.

Skaggs is traveling to Washington to perform at the Interfaith Holiday Gala Benefit for the Wounded Warriors on Dec. 20. Earlier this month he was an Artist-in-Residence at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville, thanks to his successful career in the bluegrass, country and gospel music genres.

The Press Club luncheon will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. Remarks will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session, ending at 2 p.m. Tickets may be purchase by going to the following link. The cost of luncheon admission is $21 for National Press Club members and $35 non-members. Tickets must be purchased at time of reservation.
