Annual campaign supports Gleaners Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan to feed those in need

WARREN, Mich., Dec. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Generous Michiganders opened their hearts and their pantries this holiday season, donating 13,268 pounds of food as part of the 5(th) Annual Art Van Furniture and WXYZ-TV Together We Can community food drive benefitting Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan. The canned food and nonperishable food items collected at Art Van Furniture locations across metro Detroit, Ann Arbor, Port Huron and Howell will provide 11,012 meals for local families in need.

All donations collected from the Together We Can food drive will be distributed to soup kitchens, shelters and pantries in rural, suburban and urban communities in Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland and Wayne counties by Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan.
