People of Tomorrow: Unite the World and Build a Bridge With Messages

People of Tomorrow: Unite the World and Build a Bridge With Messages

BOOM, Belgium, November 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --

Tomorrowland, Arne Quinze & De Schorre are building a state-of-the-art, permanent
public artwork and invite the whole world to help via http://www.peopleoftomorrow.com.
Belgian artist Arne Quinze has taken inspiration from the Winged Victory of Samothrace
sculpture and invites everybody around the world to be part of the project. Anyone can
leave a message on the wood of the artwork, as a contribution to this symbol of friendship
and unity.

The public art installation by Arne Quinze symbolises connection between people.
That's why the bridge is being partly financed via crowdfunding. That means anyone -
anywhere in the world - can have their personal message permanently installed on the
bridge, thanks to a specially developed website: http://www.peopleoftomorrow.com.

The goal? To create an artwork with 210,000 positive messages from every corner of the
world. With that many messages, it will be a world record: there have never been so many
people involved in the creation of a single artwork. Many artists, DJs and inspiring
personalities from throughout the world have already agreed to take part.

The construction of the bridge will be filmed and photographed, and viewers can follow
every step of the progress via http://www.peopleoftomorrow.com. This way, the audience
will get to watch 'their' project come to life. 'One World by the People of Tomorrow' will
be officially opened in June 2014.

'One World by the People of Tomorrow' is a work by everyone and for everyone.
Accessibility is an important focus of the project to create a positive link between the
visitors and the art project. For example, the bridge will be easily accessible for
wheelchairs and there will also be inscriptions in Braille. A subtle lighting plan will
enhance safety without causing light pollution.

Arne Quinze will perfectly tailor his installation to the setting, similar to his
earlier creation 'Natural Chaos'. He has opted here again for organic forms and subtle
patches of colour. When the sun hits the special glass sections it will create a
fascinating play of light, bringing the bridge fully to life. At dusk, the atmosphere will
shift to a subdued intensity - perfect for a heart-warming evening stroll.

The installation will be built using carefully chosen, sustainable materials such as
steel and the tropical hardwood Okan from the FSC label.
