America Teve received a total of 22 Emmy Awards in 11 categories. America Teve became the #1 station in the 37th Suncoast Emmy Awards. America Teve received more awards than ABC Tampa (WFTX - 21 statuettes in 9 categories), NBC West Palm Beach (WPVT - 16 statuettes in 9 categories), Univision Puerto Rico (WLII 18 statuettes in 8 categories) and Telemundo 51 (WSCV 15 statuettes in 4 categories).

MIAMI, Nov. 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- America Teve, the leading independent station in South Florida, was recognized by the Suncoast Regional Chapter of the National Academy of Television (NATAS, for its acronym in English) with twenty-two Emmy Awards® in eleven categories. A total of 15 Employees of the company were recognized during the ceremony this Saturday November 23 in Hollywood, Florida. The Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences comprises the television markets in the entire State of Florida, Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Lake Charles and New Orleans, Louisiana, Mobile, Alabama, Thomasville, Georgia and Puerto Rico.

When it comes to the number of statuettes, America Teve has achieved a solid growth throughout the latest editions of the awards. In 2012, America Teve received 16 statuettes in 9 categories and in 2011, 11 statuettes in 4 categories. Additionally, America Teve has been the leader in number of nominations in the past 2 editions, surpassing both Hispanic and Anglo stations.

The presentation of the Suncoast Emmy Awards is intended to be an incentive for the continued pursuit of excellence for those working in the television industry and to focus public attention on outstanding cultural, educational, technological, entertainment, news and informational achievements in television.
