Canadian Comedy Award Winner enrolls in Mattel's 'Ever After High' cartoon web series
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ - Comedy actor Lindsay Ames is voicing
a character in Ever After High, a cartoon web series based on the doll franchise created by Mattel.
Ames is performing the voice of a featured recurring character and her
work will debut on forthcoming episodes due out in 2014.
The web series runs on www.everafterhigh.com and on www.youtube.com/EverAfterHigh
From Emmy winning creator Audu Paden (Animaniacs, Monster High), Ever After High tells the story of teenage sons and daughters of famous fairytale
characters who attend boarding school and are destined to either relive
their parents' classic stories or to rewrite their own destines.
"What's interesting about the show is the perspective of the
characters," Ames said. "They're the untold sons and daughters of
well-known fairytale characters. The vocal quality is so unique to be
able to portray the character I'm voicing."
Paden said, "Lindsay's a great fit for the series. Through her work in
comedy, she's become a great character actor. Her voice is malleable
and her performing charisma gives the character a quality of uniqueness
that we were looking for."
A Vancouver native, Ames won a Canadian Comedy Award for That Thing That Happened, a 2011 short film she starred in with comedy partner Josh Saltzman (This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Call Me Fitz). She also acted with Saltzman in the short film The Fish Bride, which received a Canadian Comedy Award nomination. Ames has been
featured on Comedy Central's Tosh.O, Key and Peele, the CW's Beauty and the Beast and The Vow starring Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum.
Ames has acted in the films A Dad for Christmas starring Oscar winner Louise Fletcher, Sundays at Tiffany's starring Alyssa Milano and Fox's The 41-Year-Old Virgin Who Knocked Up Sarah Marshall and Felt Superbad
About It.
Ames has performed voiceovers for T-Mobile, Honda and Prototype 2. She
has done sketch comedy videos for Funnyordie.com and Collegehumor.com. Ames' My First Hollywood Audition sketch became a viral sensation and her web series, How to End a Date, was acquired by MTV Clutch. This week, she premiered her sketch comedy
show, Josh and Lindsay, Brother and Sister Extraordinaire at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles.
