Recycled Paper Greetings Returns to Lollapalooza

Recycled Paper Greetings Returns to Lollapalooza

Company featured as Rock & Recycle sponsor

CHICAGO, July 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Recycled Paper Greetings announces it will once again serve as the greeting card headliner for Lollapalooza's Rock & Recycle program at Grant Park in Chicago, August 2-4. As the sponsor of Rock & Recycle, the greeting card company helps encourage festival-goers to collect recyclables throughout the park in exchange for prizes and swag.

Recycled Paper Greetings will also guide festival-goers in sending real greeting cards on recycled paper directly from Grant Park, allowing attendees to share their Lollapalooza experience with friends and loved ones. All the cards sent over the three day event will contribute to the planting of 50,000 trees in partnership with Trees for the Future, the organization dedicated to planting trees with rural communities, enabling them to restore their environment.

"It is very fulfilling to help the festival minimize its environmental impact and raise awareness--particularly in our own backyard," said Sue Buchta, president of Papyrus-Recycled Greetings. "In addition to reinforcing our environmental commitment, we are also connecting with an audience that truly understands and supports the community of independent artistic voices, as Recycled Paper Greetings does, with our independent artist family."

The four Rock & Recycle centers will be located throughout the Lollapalooza grounds and will be open all three days of the festival.

Lollapalooza has been a staple on the music festival scene since its inception in 1991 as the first large-scale US showcase for alternative music. The Rock & Recycle Program was started in 2005, and nearly 3000 enthusiastic fans participate annually. Last year, nearly 56% of waste was diverted from landfills during show days, and a large portion of this was collected through the Program.
