Community Invited to Hospice of the Western Reserve's 35th Annual Meeting

CLEVELAND, July 16, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Hospice of the Western Reserve invites community and professional healthcare partners, supporters and friends to join its staff and volunteers for a special milestone anniversary celebration at its 35(th) Annual Meeting on Thursday, Aug. 8, 5 p.m. The event will be held at the new Global Center for Health Innovation (formerly Cleveland Medical Mart), 1 St. Clair Ave. N.E., Cleveland. Following cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, guest speakers Michael Heaton, who writes the popular "Minister of Culture" column for The Plain Dealer, and Austin Carr, Guard, Cleveland Cavaliers, 1971-80, will speak about the foundation and strength of Northeast Ohio - culture, music and sports. Daryl Stuermer, lead guitarist of Genesis and an original member of the Phil Collins band, will entertain with a special acoustic performance.
The event will highlight Hospice of the Western Reserve's role as both a pioneer and an innovator of the hospice movement in the U.S. Commemorating 35 years of service in the Northeast Ohio community, the milestone meeting will highlight the agency's rich history of innovation, explore how its mission is woven into the fabric of the community and preview its vision. Several awards will be presented honoring support for the agency's mission. Employees observing five or more years of service will be also be honored and recognized. Hospice Benefit Concert Slated for Aug. 9, Second Day of Anniversary Celebration
The Beachland Ballroom, 15711 Waterloo Rd., will welcome the Daryl Stuermer Band for a concert benefiting patients and families of Hospice of the Western Reserve on Friday, Aug. 9, 8 p.m. Stuermer has been touring the world to sold-out crowds since 1978, creating the signature guitar sound of the Phil Collins mega hits "In the Air Tonight" and "Easy Lover." An exclusive "Cocktail Party/Meet and Greet" with Stuermer is available before the show, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Limited tickets are available.
