Siamak Kalhor, Cyberset Co-Founder and Radio Personality, Speaks Out on Iranian Election

Featured on public radio powerhouse KPCC and Fox 11's "Good Day L.A.," Mr. Kalhor discusses the likely fall-out of the victory by Hassan Rouhani as the new president of Iran

LOS ANGELES, June 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- With its very large and vibrant Persian community, news about Iran strikes an especially powerful chord in Los Angeles. SEO company Cyberset Corp. co-founder and KIRN (AM 670) radio personality Siamak Kalhor provided a uniquely Iranian-American perspective on the recent election of perceived moderate Hassan Rouhani to the presidency of Iran, a nation with a complex and highly problematic relationship with U.S foreign policy and domestic politics. The subject is a long way from his efforts on behalf of Cyberset Internet marketing services, but Mr. Kalhor is man who's used to playing multiple roles.

Mr. Kalhor was interviewed by Larry Mantle of "AirTalk" and A Martinez of "Take Two," both weekday mainstays at highly influential public radio station KPCC (89.3). Mr. Kalhor also engaged in a discussion of the election on the Friday, June 21 edition of popular Fox 11 morning news program, "Good Day L.A." with Steve Edwards and Maria Sansone. He was also quoted earlier in the week by Los Angele Times "L.A. Now" blogger Robert Faturechi.

Speaking with KPCC's A Martinez, Mr. Kalhor noted that he and his KIRN AM callers tended to see the election as more of an adjustment than as a possible harbinger of significant change. Specifically, Mr. Kalhor noted the president-elect's many ties to the similarly moderate and reformist former Iranian president Mohammad Khatami, who held the post between 1997 and 2004.

Mr. Kalhor, who would strongly prefer a secular and democratic state over the current theocratic status quo, voted for Mr. Rouhani, but he is far from euphoric about the election. "It's another four to eight years of steady Islamic Republic power...Right now, looking at the situation in the Middle East, the timing isn't exactly favorable for a reformer or a moderate," Kalhor said, pointing to such issues as the rapidly internationalizing Syrian civil war, which has attracted both the United States and Iranian governments as interested parties on opposing sides of the brutal conflict.

Aside from his media appearances and his radio show - covering both technology and general interest topics - Mr. Kalhor is quite busy. He is a celebrity to the estimated 700,000 Iranian-Americans living in the greater Los Angeles area, but he is also a leader in the field of Internet marketing in all its forms, from content based SEO to social media marketing.

Together with co-founder and business partner, Shahab Saba, Mr. Kalhor is also one of the moving forces behind Cyberset Corp. Cyberset is a growing company focused on all aspects of online marketing, with an emphasis on using a highly targeted, content-based approach to search engine optimization (SEO) that drives customers to client websites. As a widely respected businessman, an authority on high technology, and a leading representative of Los Angeles's vibrant Persian community, Mr. Kalhor looks forward to speaking to more media outlets about international, national, and local events on a wide range of topics.
