A respected leader in business, Mr. Schneider co-founded Triton Container International Limited, the world's largest owner-lessor of marine cargo containers, with 20 offices in 13 countries on 6 continents, in 1980 and serves as its Chairman. He is a former Chairman of the Board of Oakland's College Preparatory School and also serves on numerous educational and corporate boards. Mr. Schneider holds an A.B. degree from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. Of his appointment, he says, "I'm excited to join the PRI Board because I believe in its mission...enabling a more informed and civilized community through the power of public media."
Ms. Brenden is a dedicated philanthropist and community leader in the Twin Cities. She has been an active fundraiser and advocate for arts and health organizations in Minnesota, including the Guthrie Theatre, Minneapolis Institute of Art, The Bravewell Collaborative, Cowles Center for Dance & The Performing Arts and Abbott Northwestern Hospital Institute for Health & Healing. She graduated from Pepperdine University and obtained her Master's in Social Work degree from the University of Southern California. Brenden notes, "I'm thrilled to be joining the PRI board because of its approach to working collaboratively with organizations within and beyond public media to engage, educate and inspire people to think and act. This approach is one that I believe is critical to making a lasting impact."
"Both Ed and Blythe are passionate about PRI's work in creating content that helps people live successfully in our interconnected world," said Alisa Miller, PRI's President and CEO. "Ed's business acumen and non- and for-profit Board experience will guide PRI as we navigate through a rapidly changing media and technology environment. Blythe's deep roots in Minneapolis and support of the issues of health/medicine, women and children, and the arts - all topics that PRI explores through its content - will enable us to strengthen our community presence. I look forward to working with them both as PRI extends its reach and impact in the years ahead."
