Festival goers were able to watch great performances on their smartphones while waiting for another act to start, getting food, recharging in the shade, or just hanging out. The ChirpVision app downloaded in less then a minute and then wow, three stages came alive in the palm of their hand.
A Chirp WiFi Zone was created at the "That" tent where fans took advantage of the live ChirpVision broadcast experience. People were rockin' out watching and listening to The XX, Jack Johnson, ZZ Top and Passion Pit while they waited for acts to come on stage. During a rainstorm, fans also took the opportunity to hang out in the ChirpZone to watch live performances from multiple Bonnaroo stages while staying dry.
"ChirpVision technology takes the fan experience to a whole new level as ChirpVision became an immersive extension of Bonnaroo. By allowing fans to enjoy interactive features they have come to expect with todays mobile technology while never missing the action around the festival," said ChirpVision co-founder Robert Bianchi.
ChirpVision can stream video up to 100,000 event patrons. Future developments to the ChirpVision system can also provide texting, DVR functions, VoIP, full or limited internet, video on demand, trivia and contests, providing an extra level of entertainment for fans right at the event. While all these features weren't provided at Bonnaroo, fans got a glimpse of the ChirpVision experience for future event viewing.
Mobile Wi-Fi technologies developed by ChirpVision provides a comprehensive end-to-end solution from the broadcast camera to the smartphone or tablet and overcomes challenges of dense crowd in-venue Wi-Fi. The patented system integrates advanced media streaming and mobile technologies to deliver a new fan experience that is live and interactive and substantially lower in costs than conventional applications.
