Sewickley's Own Gabriela Zucckero Performs in the CLO Production of 42nd Street

Miss Zucckero, 14, is one of the youngest performers ever to have passed the strict auditions for the casting of her part in this Tony Award® Winning Musical.

SEWICKLEY, Pa., April 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Sewickley's own Gabriela Zucckero will be appearing in the upcoming Pittsburgh CLO production of the Tony Award®-winning musical "42nd Street". She is one of the youngest performers ever, at age 14, to have passed the strict auditions for the casting of her part. The production will take place at Pittsburgh's world-renowned Benedum Center May 31, 2013 to June 9, 2013.

This past March by special invitation, Gabriela is hot off her tap heels from performing in New York City with the same opening number from 42nd Street that she will now perform with the Civic Light Opera Association (CLO). Her New York performance was included with the famed Dancers Over 40's yearly production which featured many of the original Broadway cast members. The assembly also included her long time personal dance instructor Karen Prunzick of Broadway Dance Studio who appeared as Anytime "Annie" in the original Broadway production and soundtrack. In addition, this special sold out performance included the world famous June Taylor Dancers and the Rockettes. The event was archived and donated to the Jerome Robbins Dance Collection at New York's Lincoln Center Library for the Performing Arts.

Gabriela is the daughter of Renee and Richard Zucckero of Sewickley and attends Quaker Valley High School where she is a 4.0 student. She has been featured in all of the Middle and High School Musicals for the past several years and has studied dance with Karen Prunzick since she was three years old as well as classical piano and voice. Miss Zucckero has been seen in Pittsburgh, appearing in several memorable Holiday performances at PPG Center and Market Square along with the BDS troupe.
