New April 27 Air Date: Yosef Abramowitz Lands CNN Profile, an Israeli First

"The Next List" to feature global solar power pioneer; broadcast change due to events in Boston

JERUSALEM, April 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --

On Saturday, April 27th, at 2:30p.m. EST, Israeli solar pioneer Yosef Abramowitz will
be featured on CNN's "The Next List." Abramowitz is the first Israeli to appear on the
30-minute weekend program, hosted by Dr. Sanjay Gupta, which profiles innovators,
visionaries and agents of change from around the globe. The original broadcast timing was
postponed due to the tragic events at the Boston Marathon.

The Next List traces Abramowitz's life, including his upbringing in an activist
commune in Boston, joining the Young Judaea youth movement, his leadership of the
anti-apartheid movement at Boston University, his relationship with Rabbi Susan Silverman
(recently in the headlines for her arrest at Jerusalem's Western Wall), their quixotic
family move from Boston to Kibbutz Ketura and the formation of Abramowitz's global vision
of a solar-powered world.

"Our goal is to not only solarize Israel as a renewable light unto the nations, but to
supply clean, green power to 50 million people in the developing world by 2020," said
Abramowitz. "Bringing solar energy to developing nations embodies impact investing at its
best, especially since the US Government provides risk insurance to our American investors
in the solar fields. My partners, investors and I are deeply grateful to CNN for allowing
us to share our vision to fight climate change by bringing solar energy to under-served
populations and providing a cost-effective alternative to burning diesel for power."

Abramowitz, known as "Captain Sunshine" in Israel, is credited with co-founding the
Israeli solar industry with partners David Rosenblatt of New Jersey and Ed Hofland of
Kibbutz Ketura. Abramowitz has since expanded his work to deliver solar power to
developing countries.

The Next List recognition follows CNN naming Abramowitz in 2012 as one of the planet's
six leading Green Pioneers (

and being recognized as "Person of the Year" by the 2012 Israel Energy and Business
Convention.

Abramowitz currently serves as President and CEO of Energiya Global Capital
(http://www.energiyaglobal.com), which develops solar fields worldwide to help
countries become energy independent, and President of Israel's Arava Power Company
(http://www.aravapower.com).
