WXYZ To Provide Extensive Coverage Of North American International Auto Show
WXYZ NAMED OFFICIAL CHARITY PREVIEW TELEVISION PARTNER
SOUTHFIELD Mich., Jan. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The North American International Auto Show has named WXYZ-TV the official television partner of the 2013 NAIAS Charity Preview. The Charity Preview is southeastern Michigan's most prestigious black-tie fundraiser. As the official broadcast station, WXYZ will bring viewers closer to all the glitz, glamour and excitement than any other television station. Celebrities, business leaders, and top industry executives will join WXYZ to celebrate Detroit's automotive industry and raise funds for local children's charities. Since 1976, the Charity Preview has raised more than $87 million for Southeastern Michigan children's charities, more than $49 million of which was raised in the past ten years alone.

WXYZ will broadcast "Red Carpet Charity Preview," a live 90-minute special beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, January 18(th). 7 Action News anchors Stephen Clark and Carolyn Clifford will host the program, along with 7 Action News anchors JoAnne Purtan, Alicia Smith, Vic Faust, Tom Leyden and Erin Nicole. The show will feature interviews with top automotive executives, the latest in high fashion from the show floor, and sneak peeks at the must-see vehicles and interactive displays visitors will be able to see at NAIAS. WXYZ.com and the station's mobile apps will provide companion coverage with photo galleries and red carpet access.
An encore presentation of "Red Carpet Charity Preview," will air on WXYZ on Saturday, January 19(th) at 8:30 a.m. Then, from 7:00-7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Channel 7 will give viewers an insider's view of the auto industry with "Cars are Stars," featuring reports on the latest trends in style, safety and technology from 7 Action News hosts Dave LewAllen and Glenda Lewis with reports from Anu Prakash and Dave Rexroth.
WXYZ will be the place to turn for all the automotive action beginning with the Press Preview. On January 14(th) and 15(th), viewers can catch the action as it's happening on wxyz.com and the station's mobile apps with up-to-the-minute reports on the latest vehicle releases, all-day live streaming video of new car reveals, and in-depth analysis from industry insiders. WXYZ will also provide a special look at the show to followers on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Join WXYZ-TV for Channel 7Family Day at NAIAS on Friday, January 25(th). Visitors to the show will have a chance to meet Channel 7 personalities and enjoy live bands, circus performers, magicians, artists, the Detroit Grand Prix Race Car Drivers, as well as kid's games and activities from Radio Disney.
