Oil House Records Announces the Premiere of Country Artist Tim Sweeney's Ground-Breaking Music Video Incorporating American Sign Language
PASADENA, Calif., Jan. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Country Music Artist Tim Sweeney teamed up with Los Angeles Director Jules Dameron to produce a groundbreaking music video for, "Baby I Try For You" an upcoming release from Tim Sweeney's debut album "This Time." The video will premiere for invited guests at Arclight Cinemas in Pasadena, California on January 28th at 7:30 pm.
"The popularity of American Sign Language ('ASL') music videos has exploded on YouTube," says Tim Sweeney, "and I became captivated by the beauty and artistry of many of the ASL music interpretations."
Sweeney wrote "Baby I Try For You," as a tribute for his son "Timmy" who was born with Down syndrome and Autism and never developed the ability to talk.
The song beautifully expresses his son's perspective trying to communicate to his mother how much he loves her and how he wishes he could tell her. Sweeney commented, "I just felt he was trying to tell us that everything would be alright and that he loves us, and I was just trying to be his voice at that moment."
Sweeney had to find a Director for the video. "Not many people in the record industry supported my idea of using ASL in a mainstream Country Music video," but Sweeney ignored detractors and persisted until he found the ASL Music Video "Hero" starring Sean Berdy directed by Jules Dameron. Sweeney reflects, "Jules work in that video was just amazing; the combination of the ASL story, the story and the performance of the actors and their expressiveness took that song to a whole new level for me. The video story and the ASL haunted me for weeks; it was such a beautiful artistic combination." "Baby I Try For You" was simply the right song at the right time to make such a combination into an extraordinarily moving, emotional experience.
Prior to the premiere of the video, there will be a discussion with Tim Sweeney and Jules Dameron regarding the making of this Groundbreaking Music Video.
Tim Sweeney's debut album - This Time is available on iTunes on January 28, 2013.
