Austin, TX Nonprofits offered more time to apply for much needed grants

AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The CTK Foundation Fund is extending the Grant Application Deadline. U.S. nonprofits now have until January 14th, 2013 at noon (CST) to apply for over $55,000 in cash grants--The Heart & Soul Grant Program.

"We have extended the deadline of the 2012/13 Heart & Soul Grant Award Program in order to accommodate all the worthy nonprofits who have been extra busy over the recent holidays. These organizations give even more of their hearts and hands over the holidays in order to fill the extra need that always arises in this season of giving. My hope is that the extension will encourage even more nonprofits to apply for a CTK Foundation H&S grant by January 14th," said Kathryn Engelhardt-Cronk, President of CTK Foundation.

Nonprofits can submit a 4-8 line poem expressing the heart and soul of their nonprofit mission. After the grant application closes on January 14th, 2013, a jury panel of recognized, independent music artists and producers will select several poems, based on the quality of the lyrics. The best poem's organization will be awarded a $10,000 cash grant and Grammy-award winning recording artists, The Original Blind Boys of Alabama, will create an original, professionally produced song based on their poem.

In February, key members of the winning nonprofits will be flown to Austin for a gala award ceremony to hear the winning song's premier performance by The Original Blind Boys of Alabama.

To qualify for the grant, nonprofits must be registered 501(c)3 organizations. Grant applications, including poems, will be accepted on the CTK Foundation website www.ctkfoundation.org through January 14th, 2013. Selected nonprofits will receive non-restricted cash grants to be used to foster greater understanding of the nonprofit's mission in their community. The CTK Foundation is also offering a special $10,000 grant for an Austin, Texas-based nonprofit serving at-risk families and children.

For more information about the Heart & Soul Grant Program, nonprofits are encouraged to contact the CTK Foundation Fund via email: inquiries@ctkfoundation.org or by visiting the foundation website.
