LOS ANGELES, Dec. 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Calling all 2013 New Year's Well Wishers! After setting a world record for recording 100 parody video songs in 18 hours for charity this past Christmas, musician/entrepreneur Danny Kastner is holding a marathon Video Song Wishathon on New Year's Day.
With a "wish" donation to Crowdfund Christmas, an Indiegogo campaign benefiting families in need that were nominated by participating Boys and Girls Clubs across the US, well-wishers can request a personalized video with any message, improvised to any artist, style or song by Kastner.
"We have to raise more funds for these families. A small donation can bring such a positive effect on families with heartbreaking stories," says Kastner. "While these videos are a fun, even zany way for us to engage donors and build awareness, we're keeping a laser focus on the very serious intentions we've set forth with Crowdfund Christmas - to help these families in need.
"Countless families inspire the project. One woman supports a household of 12. Her father was the only positive male role model and just suffered a heart attack. She can't afford shoes, clothing or even pay the gas bill for heat. With another family, kids no longer live with their parents because the parents aren't in the proper mental state to care for them, and they've been in and out of court, trying to keep the family together."
One hundred percent (100%) of all donations to the campaign are tax-deductible, and will go directly to the families through the Boys and Girls Clubs that serve them in early 2013. All Wishathon donation requests can be submitted now at http://crowdfundchristmas.com. Requests will be accepted through 11:00PM PT on January 1, 2013.
