Energy Forward 'Are You Fan Enough' Energy-Efficient Televisions Campaign Awards Ultimate Tailgate Prize to Puget Sound Energy Customer
Regional campaign also awards 52" Energy Forward TV to Avista Utilities' customer
SEATTLE, Nov. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Energy Forward announced the Washington winners of its "Are You Fan Enough" campaign. The regional campaign, launched October 1 and culminating in Oregon, encourages Northwest residents to look for the "Most Efficient" sticker when shopping for new TVs. By entering "Are You Fan Enough" on Facebook or at Northwest Best Buy and Sears retail locations, Washington residents had the chance to win the ultimate VIP college football tailgate package, 10 tickets to a college football game or an Energy Forward 'Most Efficient' TV. The ultimate tailgate party on November 10 in Seattle will feature a wall of Energy Forward TVs and an Energy Forward RV catered with food, refreshments and Snuggies®.
Seattle won the Washington match-up over Pullman, 69 percent to 31 percent. Individual winners drawn from the Washington matchup were:
-- Fred Culver from Auburn won the grand prize VIP ultimate tailgate
package, which includes 10 tickets to this weekend's Seattle game
against Salt Lake City. Fred is a customer of Puget Sound Energy (PSE).
-- Carrie Stevens from Spokane Valley won a 52-inch Energy Forward
Television. Carrie is a customer of Avista Utilities.
"We're pleased to congratulate Fred Culver for winning the Washington 'Are You Fan Enough' sweepstakes," said Cal Shirley, vice president of customer solutions for PSE. "By entering the sweepstakes and learning about Energy Forward Most Efficient TVs, fans learned that they don't have to sacrifice performance to save energy. PSE supports Energy Forward and its educational message as part of our overall commitment to promoting energy efficiency."
TVs marked with a "Most Efficient" sticker are at least 20 to 35 percent more efficient than other energy-efficient products, and are available at Best Buy, Costco, Kmart, Sam's Club, Sears, Target, Walmart and independent electronics stores throughout the Northwest. Energy Forward is an initiative of the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) in collaboration with Northwest utilities, ENERGY STAR and retail partners.
"Choosing a 'Most Efficient' television can be a game changer when it comes to saving energy," said Chris Drake, Avista's manager of energy efficiency programs. "According to the Northwest Power and Conservation Council, a region-wide shift to the most-efficient TVs has the potential to save enough energy to power more than 290,000 homes each year. Thanks to our customer Carrie Stevens for participating in the sweepstakes and supporting her local college football team - all while learning more about energy-efficient TVs."
Entrants voted via Facebook or in Best Buy and Sears stores to win a tailgate party at one of two universities located within Washington. An entrant who voted for the team that received the most votes was randomly selected to win a grand prize VIP tailgate package. The winner of the Energy Forward 52-inch TV was randomly selected from all entrants regardless of university vote.
"The 'Are You Fan Enough' campaign is a fun way to help consumers learn about TVs that are engineered to provide the best performance while also saving energy--a winning combination for any sports fan," said Ty Stober, market transformation initiative lead at the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance.
The Energy Forward campaign to date has successfully helped consumers from across the region learn more about energy-efficient televisions while competing to win ultimate tailgates for their favorite college football teams.

-- Idaho game was November 3, 2012
