DOS Broadcast & Appraisal Service Completes Initial Review and Update of ValCom (vlco.pk) Video and Music Library Appraisal
ANNISTON, Ala., Nov. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- A spokesperson for DOS Broadcasting and Appraisal Service today announced that DOS completed a 90 day engagement at ValCom's (vlco.pk)New Jersey headquarters. ValCom had contracted with DOS, in July of this year, to review and update their initial Library appraisal of April 2011. As part of this review and update DOS was given full unfettered access to all files and records which had not been made available to DOS by former management under the original 2011 contract.
As part of the recent engagement DOS also received full access to documents related to the Music Library. DOS has reviewed ownership documents to the Music Library and concluded that ValCom has clear title to the collection of songs and recordings. The collection consists of:
-- 4135 Tracks/Songs
-- 2,085 individual Songs
-- 79 Publishing Company Contracts
-- 289 Artists
Furthermore, in an ongoing effort Copyright attorneys, working for DOS in New York and California, are continuing to perfect ownership and to register titles with the appropriate agencies.
During the review, assets which had not been included in the original appraisal for the Video Library were located and over 175 additional copyrights have been registered by DOS on ValCom's behalf. DOS is continuing to examine the archives for other materials on which ValCom may have a claim.
DOS has determined that the chain of title on certain components of the Video Library is not as represented to DOS by the former CEO of ValCom, Vince Vellardita in 2011. In these instances further research is being conducted by DOS to verify the correct chain of title on the items in question and will continue to issue updates to the Board.
ValCom has engaged DOS to continue research on both the Video and Music Library documentation and copyrights. DOS recently presented a report to the Board of Directors on its New Jersey engagement with specific recommendations on how to exploit, monetize and protect the assets of the company.
