Atlanta Improv Comedy Club to Host Kids Comedy Competition

A talent search for the regions funniest young comedian

ATLANTA, Nov. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Improv Comedy Club & Dinner Theatre is hosting Kids Comedy Korner. Kids Comedy Korner is a television show hosted by Denisha Gillespie. This show is an hour reality talent competition that entertains the audience and educates the contestants. Each week the contestants learn skills to create and perform comedy from comedians and acting coaches. Quincy Bonds, head instructor and on screen moderator of improv, coaches the contestants one on one with the help of Atlanta comedians.

During this time, the contestants are critiqued and guided on their upcoming performances. On this fast track of one week preparation, the stage is set for a live performance the very next day.

Sketch, improv and stand-up comedy are performed on a rotating schedule. The end result is the development of unleashing their own inner comedians while acquiring skills like public speaking, networking, confidence, thinking on their feet and writing.

This is a collaborative project between Kids Comedy Korner and our alliance partners like The Atlanta Improv Comedy Club, PhatComedy, Your Act. Together, the program is geared toward empowering children to be more conscious of their sense of humor and teaching a strong sense of self.

Auditions will be held Saturday, November 17(th) from noon - 5 PM at Andrews Entertainment District. The competition and taping will be held over a six week period starting at 3PM Sunday December 2(nd), 2012 in the Atlanta Improv Comedy Club. The event is open to the public. Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door.
