Visions of Tomorrow Foundation Unveils New Documentary Film Project Exploring Scientific and Spiritual Solutions to the World's Biggest Problems

Filmmaker Roger Ressmeyer today named PhotoMedia's Person of the Year; to preview new film concept for social innovators

SEATTLE, Oct. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Visions of Tomorrow Foundation(TM) (VTF) is a non-profit focused on building awareness for scientific and spiritual solutions that address the world's biggest problems. On Thursday, October 18th, Roger Ressmeyer, executive director and producer for VTF, will host a screening of the trailer for his feature-length documentary film, now in pre-production, to an audience of social innovators who share in the vision of global change.

The viewing will take place as part of the Social Innovation Fast Pitch (SIFP) event on Thursday October 18th, which is being produced by Social Venture Partners Seattle (SVP), and will feature a keynote by Nathan Myhrvold, founder of Intellectual Ventures and creator of the Global Good Program. The event is a competition between local social entrepreneurs, who are competing for funding of projects that will have a sustainable impact on Puget Sound's social and environmental challenges.

They not only believe a better future is possible, they know solutions exist for every one of our planet's problems, from climate change to inequality and war. This documentary will explore those solutions and share a message of hope and empowerment to take action."

Today, Ressmeyer is being named PhotoMedia Photography Person of the Year and is featured in the Fall 2012 issue (due out October 18). This award comes in recognition of Ressmeyer's tremendous leadership among his colleagues in the photography and filmmaking industries, as well as his humanitarian efforts to advance the cause of scientific exploration and search for solutions to the world's social and environmental challenges.
