LOS ANGELES, Oct. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The inaugural Baja International Film Festival, to be held November 14-17 in Cabo, Mexico, today announced an exciting new partnership with Virgin Produced and the launch of the first annual Baja International Film Festival - Virgin Produced Screenplay Competition.

Beginning today, October 8(th), the Festival competition will accept feature-length screenplays in all genres until the submission deadline of October 26(th). Screenplays entered into the competition will be judged by a distinguished panel of film industry professionals and the winners will be announced on November 7(th).

The grand-prize winner will receive one complimentary luxury hotel stay during the Festival and two VIP all-access passes to all screenings and festival events, in addition to the winning screenplay being eligible for option consideration by Virgin Produced, the film and television arm of Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group. The top three finalists will be announced in an internationally disseminated press release, on the Festival website and through Festival and partner newsletters.

The inaugural Baja International Film Festival is co-founded by BIFF festival directors Scott Cross and Sean Cross, co-founders of the Colorado Film Institute and Vail Film Festival. Scott and Sean Cross also serve as the Festival's artistic directors alongside Jorge Sanchez Sosa, former director of the Guadalajara Film Festival. Nancy Collet, former Director of Programming at the American Film Institute, serves as Festival Senior Programmer.
