Pop Up Converse Rubber Tracks Studio and Special Music Showcases Launch in Montreal, Canada, September 17-22
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass., Sept. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, CONVERSE Inc. announced it will bring the Converse Rubber Tracks experience, from Brooklyn, NY to Montreal from September 17-22 during the POP Montreal International Music Festival. For four days, Converse will provide local Canadian artists the opportunity to record at its "Converse Rubber Tracks in Montreal" pop-up studio at no cost and also host several music and skate events as part of "City Carnage: Montreal," a four-day free event celebrating music and skateboarding.

Since the studio opened in Brooklyn in July 2011, Converse Rubber Tracks has provided emerging artists the opportunity to record in a state-of-the art studio at no cost. Converse created the studio as a means to support and facilitate an artist's self-expression. Musicians are offered the opportunity to register online, and if selected, record at Converse Rubber Tracks and in the end retain all the rights to their music.
CONVERSE RUBBER TRACKS IN MONTREAL
For this year's POP Montreal, Converse invited Montreal-based artists to apply for an opportunity to record at "Converse Rubber Tracks in Montreal" located at Montreal's own Treatment Room Studios. The musicians will reserve one of four days (September 17-20) to record original music alongside experienced engineers at no cost. At the end of the recording process, the artists will retain all rights to their work. The studio will also be a destination for exclusive performances and band interviews that will be posted on the Converse Facebook page.
CITY CARNAGE: MONTREAL
On September 19-21, Converse "City Carnage: Montreal" takes over Mission Santa Cruz as part of POP Montreal for three nights of free music showcases, highlighting emerging artists, as well as artists who have already recorded at Converse Rubber Tracks in Brooklyn, NY. The official POP Montreal showcases will feature artists such as Dam-Funk, Mr. MFN Exquire, Hot Snakes, Metz, Austra, Doldrums as well as Converse Rubber Tracks recording artists Dinosaur Bones. On September 22, Converse will partner with skateboarding retailer EMPIRE to host a free, all ages skate day party at Fresh Paint. Set to appear and skate are Converse Skateboarding Ambassadors Mike Anderson, Julian Davidson and Nick Trapasso.
