Playing For Change Foundation Hosts Second Annual Global Day of Music and Announces Clinton Global Initiative Commitment to Action





LOS ANGELES, Sept. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Playing For Change Foundation (PFCF) will host its second annual global Playing For Change Day, Saturday, September 22, 2012 (www.pfcday.org). Approximately 300 events will take place in 50 countries. Musicians and fans will perform on stages, street corners, schools, cafes and via live stream video to raise funds and awareness to bring music into the lives of young people. PFCF will announce its official 'Commitment to Action' as a Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) participant during an open jam session event at 1:00P.M. at Washington Square Park in New York City.

The Playing For Change Foundation (PFCF)www.playingforchange.org is a nonprofit organization with a mission to create positive change through music and arts education. Over 600 children participate in regular music instruction at PFCF music schools and programs in South Africa, Ghana, Mali, Rwanda, and Nepal.

Through its CGI Commitment to Action, PFCF will strengthen current music schools and programs so that they become centers for community life by providing a space for the robust exchange of ideas, offering additional educational programming, and providing new opportunities for community development.
