New Super Group Karmeleons Makes Its US Debut

NEW YORK, Sept. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Karmeleons, a new musical collective featuring accomplished artists from the worlds of electronic house, Indian classical and world music, makes its US debut Sept. 11 at New York's premiere electronic music club Cielo.

The super group will include the renowned experimental house music DJ Nasha, ace Indian classical mandolinist U. Rajesh, and Juno Reactor drummer/percussionist Greg Ellis.

The latest incarnation of international house music, Karmeleons is the brainchild of U. Shrinivas, the legendary Indian classical mandolinist (and brother of U. Rajesh), and Rishi Shah, publisher of RAVE magazine (India).

U. Shrinivas says, "Though my first love is the mandolin and its classical expression, I see huge opportunity to expand the sound through the dance music medium. Music is a constant evolution. It should always change and grow. The synergy I have felt playing with electronic music DJs is remarkable. Karmeleons is the product of this. Karmeleons is house music live - a set that showcases mandolins, percussion and vocals backed by beats powered by DJ Nasha. The event has attracted attendees from the highest levels of the music industry.
