Lions Fans Invited to Kick Off Season with Tailgate Party & MTV Show Filming at Garden City Store Grand Re-Opening

GARDEN CITY, Mich., Sept. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --As the Lions are getting set to kick off the 2012 season, Fanatic U invites you to come celebrate the kickoff of its remodeled and expanded Garden City store. The event will also be filmed by MTV as part of a pilot TV show.

Fans are invited to the store, located at 30409 Ford Rd., on Sunday, Sept. 9 to enjoy a family-friendly tailgate party complete with free snacks, nonalcoholic beverages and a chance to win front row tickets to an upcoming Tigers Game. Doors open early at 9:00 a.m. with all-day discounts on all gear. Drawing takes place at 11:30 a.m. Must be present to win!

MTV will be on hand to film the event as part of a pilot TV show for MTV International featuring Fanatic U. Fans are invited to hang out at the store to watch the game.

The store just completed its 1,000-square foot expansion into an adjacent space and went through an over $150,000 renovation including all new Detroit team-themed displays, interactive props and TV/video system to help customers feel like they're already at the game. The store also has improved infrastructure and operations, including new floor-to-ceiling carpet, interior ceiling, roof, walls, displays, point of sale system, offices, warehouse and computer system, and exciting new merchandise.
