Escalating restrictions on reproductive rights and increasing threats to both voting rights and fair elections are the themes of two new video campaigns.

Escalating restrictions on reproductive rights and increasing threats to both voting rights and fair elections are the themes of two new video campaigns.

MENLO PARK, Calif., Sept. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- OSCAR-nominated, EMMY-winning filmmaker Dorothy Fadiman announces the launch of her video campaigns, Choice at Risk and Elections at Risk. Choice at Risk focuses on the dangers of restricting reproductive rights while Elections at Risk highlights the escalating barriers to voting and the rise in irregular election results in the United States. The upcoming 2012 election represents the greatest risk to women's reproductive rights since ROE v. WADE, as the electoral process continues to be undermined through new voter ID laws, which stand to disenfranchise millions of voters.

Motivated by what she lived through when abortion and contraception for unmarried women were illegal, Fadiman produced Choice at Risk (25 clips, seven mini-docs, and four documentary films). This body of work presents the dramatic history of women's reproductive rights from back-alley abortions through the current crises.

At the heart of the Elections at Risk campaign (14 clips and one feature film) is VOTING THEFT in ACTION: An Election Night Saga (10 min.), which documents the statistically improbable discrepancy of "official vote tallies" compared with a nationwide exit poll during a Presidential Election. While working as an election protection volunteer in Florida, Fadiman recorded reports that votes were flipping, visibly, from one candidate to another. Since then, she has produced several films focusing on election integrity.

As the fall elections approach, key issues on the minds of millions of Americans are the availability of affordable family planning, and equal access to voting. For many Americans, the two issues are interwoven and compounded. Both voting and reproductive rights are becoming restricted by legislation. What becomes increasingly clear is that communities disenfranchised in voting access, are often the same as those who are disenfranchised by restricted reproductive health care. Together, Elections at Risk and Choice at Risk, aim to protect rights that we are at imminent risk of losing.

Fadiman, in coalition with national and regional organizations (including Planned Parenthood affiliates and the Unitarian Universalist Association), is on a nationwide Screening Tour.
