Brooklyn punk rockers On The Fifty Release Debut Album "Fast Hands, Bad Timing" distributed by CEN/RED (a Sony Music Company)

NEW YORK, Sept. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- With the release of their debut EP Fast Hands, Bad Timing today on CEN/RED Distribution (a Sony Music Company), Brooklyn-based pop punk band ON THE FIFTY has been turning heads and making people take notice. From indie music tastemakers Property of Zack who says the EP "certainly packs a punch" to Boston's seminal underground music tome Lollipop who says, "On The Fifty know good hooks, they know good songs, and pretty soon, your mom and dad will be asking if you've ever heard of 'em."

While some college kids spend their winter break realizing a dream, On The Fifty spent theirs last year recording with their musical hero, Antony Raneri of the band BAYSIDE. The resulting debut 5-track E.P., entitled Fast Hands, Bad Timing is out today, September 19th, 2012 from CEN/RED Distribution (a Sony Music company) and is available via iTunes at: http://itunes.apple.com/album/fast-hands-bad-timing/id555545232?v0=9988&ign-mpt=uo%3D1

Given the age of the band (all 21 years and under, still in college), it's surprising how epic, how involving both the music and lyrics are on Fast Hands, Bad Timing. Raneri's visceral production techniques give the songs a lingering urgency. "The band is just at the beginning - they haven't toured, they haven't made a record, but you can learn these things," recalled Raneri. "I heard some things in their demo, some musical preferences you could call an X Factor, and that's a thing that you can't learn."

Guitarist/frontman Tim Dolan was blown away by the experience of working with the band's musical hero. "We're huge fans of Bayside, their music has meant so much to us," said Dolan. "It was incredible to learn from him, he taught us so much about performing, getting sounds, and putting everything we had into the record." Guitarist Tom Dambro continued, "We have lots of influences, but no mistake, we're our own band, and Anthony helped get that out of us and onto the record."

Standout tracks include the first single entitled "The Future", the anthemic "Even If It Kills" and "Things Get Wet In The Ocean". On The Fifty's Fast Hands, Bad Timing is a record for anyone who's spent an aimless night driving around the neighborhood, looking for something to do, and wondering what their future will be.

On The Fifty is: Tim Dolan (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Tom Dambro (lead guitar and backing vocals), John "Turk" Kantar (bass and backing vocals), and Anthony Imperato (drums).
