Over 200 Bangalore school children along with their parents and teachers are expected
to turn out to see a special screening of Yash Raj Films latest release, Ek Tha Tiger, in
the Bangalore PVR Classic cinema tomorrow (August 18th). The special screening is hosted
by Ireland's leading university, Trinity College Dublin, whose campus formed the backdrop
for one of the films key locations along with the hit song, Banjaara. At the event,
moviegoers will be introduced to the range of educational opportunities available at
Trinity College Dublin, one of Europe's leading universities and a world leader in many
disciplines.



Speaking on its significance, Trinity College Dublin's Vice President for Global

As part of the visit Trinity College Dublin also presented Bollywood's most
influential film maker and founder of Yash Raj Films, Yash Chopra, with an Honorary
Professorship on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Bollywood film. The university
will continue its tour of India and plans to host a screening of Ek Tha Tiger in three
other Indian cities (Chennai, Kolkata, and Delhi) this August where hundreds of Indian
school children, their parents, teachers and alumni of the College are invited to see
Trinity College Dublin's Bollywood debut.



The university has a long and proud history as an internationally focused university
and has recently launched sixteen postgraduate scholarships for Indian students. The
scholarships are being offered in any of the university's taught masters courses offered
in Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics
and Health Sciences. Scholarships are valued at EUR3,000 each for one year. The
university's Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences is offering five scholarships
in its taught postgraduate courses. The Faculty of Health Sciences is also offering five
scholarships in its taught postgraduate courses and the Faculty of Engineering,
Mathematics and Science is offering four scholarships in its taught postgraduate courses.
Additionally, two postgraduate research scholarships valued at EUR6,000 per year are being
offered for three years for full-time study on a PhD programme. The scholarships can be
for postgraduate research in any discipline of the faculty provided the supervision
expertise is available.

2) Candidates must be Indian nationals and resident in India and eligible for
overseas tuition fees (non EU).
3) Candidates must demonstrate academic ability and performance. The
scholarships will be competitively awarded based on the results in a relevant
undergraduate degree.
4) Candidates pursuing taught postgraduate courses are eligible for 14
scholarships in arts, humanities, social sciences, engineering, mathematics, science
and health sciences.
5) Candidates pursuing postgraduate research courses are eligible for two
scholarships in engineering, mathematics and science.
