Brings Local Latino Community Viewpoint to Presidential Election Coverage
"Perspectiva Nacional con Armando Guzman" to Broadcast from Tampa & Charlotte
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Aug. 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Entravision Communications Corporation (NYSE: EVC) today announced that the company will be leveraging its extensive broadcast and digital assets, many of which are located in key battleground states, to provide the local Latino communities it serves with complete coverage of the Republican and Democratic National Conventions.
During this week's Republican National Convention (RNC), Entravision's news teams from WVEA-TV Tampa and WVEN-TV Orlando (@wven), will be on location in Tampa to provide daily updates from the convention floor. Coverage will be led by veteran anchor Gonzalo Alvarado (@gonzalochalo73) and include reports from Marina Marraco (@marinamarraco), Lorena Inclán (@lorena_inc), Natalie Perez and Ana Pereira. Coverage will be broadcast around the country on Entravision's nightly newscasts. Next week, a team of correspondents will travel to Charlotte, North Carolina for the Democratic National Convention (DNC).

Throughout both events, Entravision's correspondents will be actively using social media to update audiences in real-times on the activities from the convention floor. In addition, Entravision's weekly public affairs show which debuted in March, "Perspectiva Nacional con Armando Guzman," will be temporarily relocating to include additional coverage from both conventions. Hosted by nationally recognized correspondent Armando Guzman, the show covering the RNC will air on Sunday, September 2(nd) and is slated to include interviews with Hector Barreto, former Administrator of the Small Business Administration and Rosario Marin, former U.S. Treasurer. And, in advance of the DNC next week, the show will also include an interview with the Chairman of the Democratic National Convention and current Mayor of Los Angeles, Antonio Villaraigosa. During the interview, Villaraigosa will offer his outlook on the Republican meetings in Tampa, along with a preview of what to expect from his party's upcoming convention.
"Perspectiva Nacional" will also be at the Democratic National Convention next week and will present interviews and information from important political personalities attending this event on its September 9(th )broadcast.
"Perspectiva Nacional con Armando Guzman" airs on Sundays at 8:30 a.m. E.T. on all 24 of Entravision's owned and operated Univision affiliate television stations, including stations in key battleground states such as Connecticut, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Florida, California, Massachusetts and Texas, in addition to Washington, D.C. The show is also rebroadcast on 36 of Entravision's owned and operated radio stations.
