Jackie Evancho Performs Special Concert At St. Petersburg International Economic Forum In Russia's Palace Square

NEW YORK, June 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Jackie Evancho performed a very special concert to an audience of government officials and more than 100,000 members of the public at the opening of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in Russia's Palace Square on June 20. A Bouquet of Opera was an event billed as a symbol of unity and equality with artists from Russia, the US and Asia sharing the stage. Jackie performed with Russia's Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Korea's Sumi Jo, two of the world's biggest opera stars. Jackie performed both classical and crossover songs, including "O Mio Babbino Caro," "The Prayer," and "Con te Partiro (Time to Say Goodbye)" as a duet with Sumi Jo.

St. Petersburg, the grand city of the Czars, has 'White Nights' from May to the end of July when the city emerges from long months of cold and darkness to celebrate the brief return of round-the-clock daylight.

Jackie Evancho got her big break at just 10 years old as a contestant on America's Got Talent, where the breakout star finished in second place. Her first release for Syco/Columbia Records, a Christmas EP titled O Holy Night, was certified platinum by the RIAA, earning Jackie the distinction of being 2010's top-selling debut artist as well as the youngest solo artist ever to go platinum and debut in the Top 10. In 2011, Syco/Columbia released Dream With Me, her debut major label full-length album. Produced by the legendary David Foster, Dream With Me debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart and has been certified gold by the RIAA. Jackie recorded Dream With Me - In Concert for PBS's the long-running Great Performances series in 2011, and the special rapidly became one of PBS' most broadcast programs of the year. Earlier this month, she recorded a new Great Performances PBS special, Jackie Evancho: Music of the Movies, which will air later this year. Jackie's much anticipated new album will be released this October.
