It is the city's newest tool to encourage business relocation and tourism.

The Music City Music Council created the video, and David Bohan, chairman of the council's marketing committee, coordinated the project. It is available at MusicCityMusicCouncil.com.

The video showcases Nashville's music, sports and community events, and it features endorsements of Nashville from publications such as Forbes, Kiplinger's, Travel + Leisure and Rolling Stone.

Professionals from Nashville's creative community donated their time and production resources to make the video.

The council promotes Nashville as a place to create and consume music and encourages business contacts throughout Nashville. Mayor Karl Dean and music industry executive Randy Goodman are the council's co-chairs.

"This is a testament to the creative spirit we are so proud of in Nashville," Dean said. "It captures the essence of Music City and will be extremely useful as we promote Nashville as a great place for businesses and visitors. I am grateful to David Bohan for leading this project, other members of the Music City Music Council and all those who created this terrific promotional tool."

City leaders have already shown it to Los Angeles-based entertainment industry executives.

The video highlights some of Nashville's nationally recognized musical talent, including Jack White, Loretta Lynn, Taylor Swift and the Nashville Symphony. The Kings of Leon provided the song, Radioactive, a generous gesture from the Nashville-based band that rarely licenses its music.

"Creative professionals all over town eagerly jumped into this project," said Bohan, chairman and CEO of BOHAN Advertising. "Not once did someone say no when we needed something to help finish up the video."

Spectacular aerial views of the skyline, the Cumberland River and iconic buildings such as the Ryman Auditorium, Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and the Tennessee Capitol show off Nashville's attributes, and shots of Broadway and concert crowds portray Nashville's diverse population.

"What comes across in this video is Nashville's strong vitality and rich musical and cultural diversity, which helps make it one of the best cities in America to live and do business," said Ken Levitan, founder and co-president of Vector Management and chairman of the Music City Music Council's business development committee. He is the manager for the Kings of Leon.

Goodman said "a small army" worked on the video that uses footage from various sources. He applauded editors and engineers at Digital Audio Post and Storyville Post, researchers at the Country Music Association, photojournalists at WKRN, the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau and BOHAN's creative team.

"This video can really open outsiders' eyes and show them some virtues and attributes they might not have realized were part of Nashville," Bohan said. "This video is about that great feeling you have living here."
